I liked the company so much I bought it…..

Anyone older than 40 will remember Victor Kiams catchcry regarding his takeover of Remington. Interestingly, there is a modern comparison and that is Apple products. However, the slogan should be adjusted to ….. I took advantage of the slavishly devoted fanboys and bought the company instead of the overhyped  products.

Below is a table of what you would be worth if you had purchased Apple stock instead of dropping the equivalent coin on the product.


There is a lesson in this and it is more a financial planning lesson – if you look in a dictionary you will find that saving comes before spending. Unfortunately, this little life lesson is lost upon people who are intent upon buying things they don’t need to impress people they don’t like.
