I just had a parent of a grade 3 boy ring to say could the school call a taxi to send her son home as she was too drunk from last night (and seemed to be still drinking today) to come pick him up.
We tried to explain we don’t put 8 year olds in a taxi on their own, but she was adamant there was no way she could get her son picked up from school. In the end a colleague and I aranged to drive him home ourselves.
Makes me so f*cking sad how sh%t some parents can be.
