SOMETIMES IT’S HARD TO know what to say when our little ones come to us with worries.
At this time of year especially, some of our little people can feel on high alert.
Yes, they’re excited about Santa, but the rush and break of routine can lead them to dwell on worries, rather than revel in the festivities.
Here is a list of 5 phrases that might help:
- I love you.
- You are safe.
- I see that you’re worried, I’ve felt that way before.
- Everyone worries. It’s part of being human.
- If you could draw your worry, what would it look like?
- I know it’s uncomfortable, but this feeling will pass. I’ll stay with you until it does.
