Mmmmmm….not certain, I know lots of grumpy pricks who are successful. Have a read and see what you think.

CT, Are you really successful if you aren’t happy ? IMO success is not measured by the size of the wallet
At 59 I’m perfectly happy to not apologise for my hard-earned grumpiness. Ha ha.
“Seeing is not believing, believing is seeing.” Tibetan proverb.
I like it.
Thanks Chris.
I will defer to Rene Rivkin who said that money didnt cure depression but it did buy a better class of depression
Didn’t he try to top himself last year ?
I think the video you sent was great and the guy hits the nail on the head. Happiness & success are intertwined but happiness first is the key. Now to find it …..
Whoops that should have read in 2005 not last year…Seriously embarrassed 😛
Was very good, Thanks Chris
Hey Chris,
Thank you so much for sharing.
Shawn Achor is brilliant, what a great talk.
Thanks to Nigel Hope too (what a positive name that is … has anyone studied the effect, of being given a positive name, on your life?) for his comment, I reckon those Buddhists have a few clues.
PS Shawn mentioned Medical School Syndrome, I’m studying aged care and I seem to be suffering from dementia! Pretty funny really 🙂
Cheers
Bruce
Hi Chris
That is just pure gold, I haven’t laughed that much at a presentation in such a long time. I sorely needed it.
Thank you

Surely the way one sees success and one’s perception of happiness is what counts here?
I’ve known people I would consider clinically depressed who will insist they are perfectly happy.
And I think we have all known people who are “successful” yet have been depressed and may have even suicided.
Sometimes we are happy, sometimes not – that’s life and I don’t know that “success” really has much to do with it.
Anyhow – a slightly manic and certainly funny talk – I liked it and do agree with the gratitude, appreciation and meditation bits.
Ps – I recently read “still Alice” and I was certain for 2 weeks that I was getting early onset dementia too!
