MY LITTLE GIRL broke her foot in the final days of school last year. “Keep her still and quiet” said the doctor.
Gosh… I almost laughed in his face.
My 11-year old has NEVER been still and quiet.
What in the heck was I to do?
The long summer holidays loomed large.
Sure, we did art and craft, board games, and loads of rehab… but pretty much, we were trapped, on a couch. Waiting for nature to ‘fix’ her foot.
We both adore musicals and fell in love with ‘The Greatest Showman’. It’s such a great movie, (even after the 9th time). It tells of the vivid colour of an outlandish dream, and the compulsion to prove yourself.
Just let me give you the freedom to dream,
And it’ll wake you up and cure your aching,
Take your walls and start ’em breaking.
It got me thinking… what walls have you got in your life? What cage holds you in, when all you want to do is fly?
Is it the views of others? Time? Your spouse? Your boss?
What excuse are you feeding yourself?
Is this really how you want to spend your days, staying in your cage – or are you finally ready to take the key?
Screw being the king or queen of conventional. This year is your year to swap your typical for something colourful. Otherwise you’re destined to repeat last year.
Are you ready to break down your walls and fly?
