I just like interesting patterns as they occur – something might come of them or on the other hand it might not. Its just a matter of listening to the market.

Hi Tom, one thing to note is the need to step back from what happens on a day to day basis. Traders as a general population have a myopic focus – they follow every little perturbation in price without being aware of the wider trend.
I agree.. I have only ever traded Forex and must humbly state I am an amateur. One thing I always do is zoom my charts out in order to get a visual of what the longer term trends etc. are. I then couple that information with information from a shorter time frame. It enables me to gain an “overall” sense of what is going on before going further.
