Walking to the shop by myself for the first time.
Pigtails swinging as I walked. At 4-years old, it was a big deal. A huge deal.
The lure of a 2 cent bag of lollies sang loudly. How exciting.
Yes, I looked both ways before I crossed the road. And yes, I remembered to turn right at that street with the big tree.
Then… disaster struck. I checked my pocket and it wasn’t there. Oh No! Where did that 2 cent coin go?
Panic set in. With a mournful, strangled cry, I started hunting.
Trying to stay calm, I was choked by tears. No luck.
Then, just as I had begun to give up hope, my neighbour appeared out of nowhere. He helped me look… retrace my steps… and voila! The 2 cent coin was found.
Such relief. I held onto it so tightly as I ran that it left an imprint on my palm by the time I got to the milkbar.
Those lollies were super sweet that day. Victory!
Think back over your life. I’ll bet that the things that you handle with ease now were once as perplexing as hell.
And if that’s the case… don’t you think that maybe… just maybe… the things that seem hard now could seem easy in the future?
You had to struggle back then. Now it’s a breeze.
The struggle is often forgotten once you have conquered that skill.
Trading is no exception.
The efforts you’re going to now will set you up for a life of ease in the future. You can either pay now, or pay later, but if you pay later… the price will always be higher.
If you give up when you drop that 2 cent coin, you’ll never know what sweet treats await.
Don’t give up. Pursue your own trading education. Your future ‘you’ deserves it.
