Last week I wrote about the implosion of Knight Capital a market maker whose minor software glitch managed to almost implode the firm.
Nanex a firm that deal in supply data and analysing market movements have produced the following little video that tracks one of their screens during the Knight meltdown. It starts a little slow but then takes off.
Nanex have also produced a very credible theory as to what happened on that day, essentially they believe a bit of testing software was released into the wild when it should have been quarantined in testing. Which sounds like a plot to every plague movie ever made.
Their explaination can be found here
