Mark Blyth: Austerity – The History of a Dangerous Idea

I always find it remarkable that so much public policy is generated with at best a modicum of half arsed evidence or at worst no evidence at all. To me austerity seems to fall into the latter camp of no evidence at all. There seems to be very little evidence for the majority of economic driven policy. How they can continue to give Nobel Prizes for economics is simply beyond me. I would be less surprised if they gave one for naturopathy.
