The perils of being sedentary and its associated lack of movement are well documented – you dont need to be Einstein to realise that doing nothing all day is bad for you. However, as with trading folks find any number of excuses not to move or do anything. One of the arguments I often encounter against exercising more is a lack of time. I have to admit that I am spoilt my time is my own so I cannot use a lack of time as an excuse. I do have a home gym that is well equipped with various bibs and bobs. However, as I have gotten older my body through years of abuse is less tolerant of my ballistic lifting so it has to be rationed, lest I spend the next two days whinging and eating Voltaren as if they were Smarties. Finding a replacement for this particular form of abuse has been surprisingly easy and I have returned to the things we used to do during every PE class and school. The joy of this sort of training is that the gear you need is minimal and packs into a corner.

I got mine from Amazon simply because they are a fraction of the price of anything with the word exercise in front of it. Setting a routine is easy – look at a chart do a set of something – look at another chart – do a set of something else. It is surprising how quickly you wish you had picked a smaller universe of instruments trade……
