Here is the question and it comes in two related parts because the first question prompted the second one. On my social media feeds I follow a number of science-related folks and as you would expect much of the talk has been about COVID-19 and how it brings people out of the woodwork with all sorts of magical cures. One of the people they took aim at was professional diet schill Michael Mosely of 5:2 diet fame who was offering an immune boosting diet. It was quickly pointed out that its bullshit if you had to be convinced, but along the way, someone asked who Mosley was and the reply was he had written a series of diet books. Someone then chimed in with the question – if the first diet worked why would you need four additional diet books.
So my part of the question is aimed at system vendors – if your initial system worked why do you keep emailing me with new super-duper versions?
The reason for writing extra books is because they sell and the authors like making a buck. if you think about it, We don’t need any more cook books, exercise books published or cooking programs on TV either.
The answer probably lies with the consumer rather than the vendors. People don’t follow diets, don’t get the outcome they were hoping for so try a different diet. Can’t be bothered following recipes and their food isn’t all that great so try another cookbook. Keep reinterpreting the trading system they pay for and probably don’t understand it either, don’t make the profits they hoped for so go and buy another one.
