I first saw Doc Neeson and The Angels more years ago than I care to remember in a shitbox venue that has now been consigned to history. He remains the most dynamic front man I have seen. The 70’s had been a decade when I had to wander along courtesy of a succession of girlfriends to see bands such as Sherbet, Skyhooks and FFS The Ted Mulry gang and then along came the Doc. Frenetic and elemental his stick like figure commanded the stage in a way no satin clad poser had.
Hi Chris,
Thanks for the enlightening and entertaining day on Sunday. Interesting analogy. Doc is singing about the markets.
Kind regards,
John
I first saw the Angels (may have been the Keystone Angels at that stage?) at a High School lunch time concert. From memory I had to sneak-in because only the seniors were considered to be mature enough to attend… Spent many summers after wearing out Angels cassettes cruising the coasts (and Oz Crawl).
RIP Doc.
I actually had the misfortune to go to the same school for awhile as the boys from Oz crawl and we had them play at our 6th form formal. They only had one song and we incomprehensible then…..
