This list is taken from the following article – Seven considerations before selling shares
1. You have achieved your investment goals
2. The investment case has changed
3. It’s time to rebalance
4. You have made a mistake
5. Be alert. Is it your emotions selling?
6. Consider taxes and costs
7. Enjoy the journey
Ok, time to fix this list. There is only one reason to ever sell an instrument.
Has it hit your stop?
If the answer is yes then you sell it – if the answer is no then you bugger off and do something more productive with your time.
There you go, fixed it – condensed seven bits of nonsense into a single binary case….much better.
Great advice as always, Chris. 😁
