Cross wind landings are good fun
I was really impressed by the decision of several pilots to abort the landing just as they were about to touch tarmac.
That ability to publicly make a call to land, make all the skill adjustments to attempt the landing, whilst having the commitment that at any point if this landing does not match the criteria for what a “safe landing” looks like I will immediately abort, power on and pull up. Accepting that I have failed because that is a perfect response to this situation.
Really says a lot about the self efficacy of those pilots.
