Absolutely loved your assessment of your own recent performance. Such honesty is breathtaking thanks heaps.
I have over the last 2 and a bit years moved to a private bank and fully embraced their recommendations. After 20 plus years of doing my own thing with a 60% success ratio I let myself fall under the spell of the advisor. Complete bloody disaster. These advisors only want to get you “invested” in some crappy allocation model (claiming diversity) that gives them maximum fees then you get the go away leave me alone lines.
No consideration of macro or micro cycle conditions. I despair for the average block who really has no idea. So for you to say your drawdown figures was a breath of fresh air. I got to 18% behind, just ridiculous that’s 30% to get to break even. Meanwhile inflation just eats away at capital unseen.
Congratulations to you for being so honest.
After doing my MBA and always doing the research I can tell you the crap this general investment industry pedals to the average bloke in the street is just that, crap. Cheers to you Sir.
