For those of you who waste your time following the financial press you will have undoubtedly noticed that the various guru predictions for the year ahead are starting to flood in. If you take them with anything more than a pinch of salt I offer to you the following. This is John Boorman excellent recently updated Guru Prediction chart.
Raoul Suurmeijer of the Greed and Fear blog has put in a metric shit tonne of work tracking the predictions of various analysts and then seeing if they have eventuated. He also makes the often observed phenomena of removing wrong predictions from the internet and pretending they have never been made. To compensate for this he keeps pdf copies of the original prediction. I have reproduced the first part of his extensive tables below so you can get a sense of the work involved –
